I am happy to report a very satisfactory treatment of my nasal polyps by Mr Umapathy. It’s a shame Nobles will not allow private surgery on site but that is my only criticism. Every thing else went very well and it was well worth the short post operative discomfort and expense for the full relief of my symptoms. This was a marked improvement on my previous treatment by a different surgeon!

Functional Endoscopic Sinus Surgery, Polyp Removal, Turbinate Reduction and Septoplasty

I originally booked a consultation following a flare-up of tinnitus in my right ear after attending a gig. During the appointment, I also mentioned some ongoing breathing issues, as I had been waking up in the early hours every day struggling to breathe comfortably.

Mr Umapathy checked my ears and performed a nasal endoscopy. He was professional and reassuring, and both he and his nurse made me feel comfortable throughout the procedure. The examination revealed a deviated septum, nasal polyps, enlarged turbinates, and blocked sinuses.

Mr Umapathy is a friendly and knowledgeable consultant who explained my condition and the proposed treatment plan thoroughly.

The following week, I underwent a hearing test and CT scan. Following a review of the CT scan results, sinus surgery was recommended. Naturally, I was quite nervous about the prospect of surgery, but Mr Umapathy took the time to address all of my concerns and put me completely at ease. The hearing test was clear, and I have been learning to manage the tinnitus flare-ups with good-quality moulded earplugs and regular breaks.

On February 21st, I underwent surgery at Spire Hospital Liverpool. The procedure went very well, and the care I received from the hospital staff was outstanding. Another major advantage was that all of my follow-up appointments took place at Noble’s Hospital, meaning I didn’t have to travel far.

I am now nearly 16 weeks post-surgery and can breathe so much better than before. I also sleep through the night without any issues, which has made a huge difference to my quality of life.

Around three days after surgery, when I began the nasal rinses, I experienced immediate relief and actually looked forward to the next one. Although the sensation felt a little strange at first, it quickly became second nature. Following Mr Umapathy’s instructions regarding the rinses was an important part of my recovery.

I purchased two NeilMed bottle kits (available from Boots) and stocked up on extra sachets. During recovery, I found that using two bottles per nostril, two to three times a day, worked very well for me.

Based on my experience, I would highly recommend booking a consultation with Mr Umapathy.

My recently bereaved and elderly mum visited Mr Umapathy with various ear issues. He put her mind at rest by explaining the issues clearly with a plan going forward. She was nervous going in but was very impressed with the sensitive and gentle manner in which he dealt with her.

I have waited over two years to try and get confirmation that I had cysts on my tonsil area, after being sent to the wrong clinic and told I had a tonsil stone ! It was really brilliant to be able to see Dr Umapathy very quickly, and to received the correct diagnosis and know that the cysts were nothing sinister. He was very understanding and listened to me, and we decided to to the whole camera procedure on both my sinuses and my throat. Walking away with a clean bill of health was great after such a long drawn out wait with the Manx care, who have quite a back log in that area. I would recommend Manx ENT to anyone who want to pay, a reasonable fee for diagnosis.

Had an appointment the week before last with Mr Neel Umapathy to ascertain a diagnosis following a sinus problem a few months back that hadn’t cleared up properly. Following an nasal endoscopy undertaken there and then Mr Umapathy showed me the photos; explained the findings and discussed his treatment plan. I attended my appointment with Mr Neel Umapathy last week and was invited on time with a friendly smile from both him and his nurse. After a discussion of my symptoms he explained clearly how he would be using the endoscope camera, with my permission, and afterwards he showed me the video on screen showing the inside of my nose and sinus, explaining the areas in question. They were very pleasant throughout and listened to my concerns, then advising me what will happen next. My second appointment with Mr Umapathy, the first being in December. During both appointments, he was calm, caring and reassuring, I was enormously grateful for the relief gained by the treatment given.

Mr Umapathy always delivers a warm welcoming professional appointment.

My 6yr old daughter had grommets inserted and he has looked after her ongoing care in a professional manner well above most consultants have in the past. It has at times been complex with her needs and Mr Umapathy has gone above and beyond.

He is excellent with children and achieving their care without them being concerned. Our daughter has additional needs and he has been able to get her to corporate to get the treatment done. Wouldn’t want my daughters ENT needs to be driven by anyone else than Mr Umapathy and his lovely team.

I visited Dr Umapathy last night for a consultation. I was made to feel relaxed and comfortable and everything was explained clearly to me. There was opportunities to ask any questions and I was also told I was able to get back in touch if I thought of anything else I wanted to ask after I had left.
